Students of all abilities are welcome. The day is built around instrument-specific masterclasses designed to help students prepare for success, whether that means solidifying fundamentals, getting ready for all-district auditions, or simply growing as a player under expert guidance. We'll also open our FAU Double Reed Lab, where oboe and bassoon students can get hands-on with reed shaping and making, a skill many students never get exposed to before college.
The day builds toward a faculty recital in the University Theatre, followed by a massed woodwind choir finale that brings every participating student together on stage. It's a great way for students to experience what it feels like to make music at the collegiate level, and to picture themselves here.
